Peer Review <\/strong><\/h2>\r\n

What is peer review?<\/span><\/h2>\r\nGood writers read the work of other writers. They also ask people to read their writing and get comments to help them improve their writing; this method of getting feedback is called peer review.\r\n\r\nWhy should you do peer review?<\/span>\r\n

  • Another reader can find parts of your writing that are difficult to understand.<\/li>\r\n \t
  • Another reader can point out irrelevant information.<\/li>\r\n \t
  • Another reader can point out where more information or explanation is necessary.<\/li>\r\n \t
  • Another reader can reassure you about the strong points of your writing. \u2022 You can learn a lot when reading others\u2019 writing.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\nHow should you do peer review?<\/span>\r\n

    1. Read your peer\u2019s entire paper first without commenting.<\/li>\r\n \t
    2. On the second reading, try to identify the thesis statement and topic sentences.<\/li>\r\n \t
    3. Note any places where there is not enough information, where something may need to be clarified, where there is irrelevant information, or where transitional words should be added. Do not worry about spelling and grammar, unless the grammar interferes with your understanding.<\/li>\r\n \t
    4. Be specific. The more specific you are, the easier it will be for your classmate to revise. See some examples of constructive comments below.<\/li>\r\n \t
    5. Do not forget to give positive comments.<\/li>\r\n<\/ol>\r\nExamples of constructive feedback<\/span>\r\n

Maybe you could omit it.\r\nd. What are these sentences?\r\ne. Your hook was very effective in getting my attention.\r\nf. You should add a title.\r\ng. Fix this grammar!\r\nh.
