Who is this for? This self-paced resource is designed for post-secondary faculty and staff in Manitoba. Its purpose is to to deepen their understanding of the UDL framework and support their ongoing professional development. This course explores the universal design approaches, experiences from UDL-informed course design, along with practical examples of how UDL can be applied in online course design.

Learning objectives

By the end of this module, learners should be able to:

  1. Describe the UDL as a philosophy and approach to teaching and learning.
  2. Explain how applying UDL principles facilitates access to learning and promotes student success.
  3. Integrate UDL principles into teaching practices.
  4. Analyze a case study of a course design and propose UDL-based improvements.
  5. Formulate an action plan for implementing UDL, including short-term and long-term goals.
